I bought Platinum since I figured there was no point waiting for 1:1 Diamond/Pearl remakes and I'm reminded how crap the pokemon selection was at the start of the Sinnoh adventure. I'm on my way to Eterna Forest right now and the best pokemon that I've encountered either have to be traded for their final evolution, or are shinx. It's fine for me because I have a spare but back when it came out not having anyone to trade with really gutted your choices.
