>>46505506>What GF wants is having more younger people be invested in the games so they can become fans etc. Then who was the Battle Frontier in Emerald for? Emerald was released 8 years after Red and Green, Red and Blue were released 2 years later. What that means is, that while the arguable target demographic of 11 year olds in Japan would be legal adults by the time Emerald came out, almost every other child demographic would still be fairly young. Now, granted, online wasn't really standard at that point, and it's arguable stuff like the Battle Tower was meant for that sort of experience if you know how it worked with Japanese Crystal, but the point here is that as somebody who just turned 13 the day before Emerald came out in Japan, I had an interest in the Battle Frontier. And this was during an era when all kinds of shit was coming out for PS2, although admittedly that's a bit different than a portable thing like a mobile phone. Kids aren't all that different today, I think, even 17 years later. Or maybe I've been out of touch since before the 2000's which is possible.
