Gen 7 and 8 might be beloved by zoomers but the real zoomers are the ones trying to glorify the dark ages that was Gens 4-6.
There are no series staples until SM. SM was a genre-defining game and the only title since to have backtracked on that was LGPE and it was unviersally panned.
