>>46515788This is from when I was younger and did Fakémon stuff:
The nicer rival, Roy. He’s a young boy who’s been your friend for like ever, and he’s a bit of a pushover and everyone is actively trying to get him to stand up for himself. He mostly uses Pokémon with warm colours (Red, Orange, Yellow, warmer greens) and picking the starter strong to yours is his first act of ‘defiance’ against you.
The meaner rival, Bev. She was your friend a long while ago, but now she’s a thuggish bully after she moved away and came back just in time to pick her Pokémon. Mostly uses Pokémon with colder colours (colder greens, blues, indigos, and violets). She is somewhat happy to get the starter weak to you (she gets last choice), and she only battles Roy at the start and wins due to type matchup. That’s because she’s waiting to jump you outside of town with her true starter, ‘Hooligon’, a Dragon-type bully Pokémon in a battle you’re expected to lose.
Third rival, Gina/Glen, is just the opposite gender of you and I never did much with them. They have a more traditional (think Blue-styled) team that changes a lot depending on their gender and starter which is the same as yours - they use the ‘canonical’ team for the protag.
I had a lot about it, it was called Ultraviolet and Infrared and I kinda enjoy revisiting it but I’ve just kinda outgrown it now for years now. Might look back through files and see what I’d post here
