Trying to masuda breed a shiny for the first time. Two full boxes in and losing hope. When the egg hatches my brain sometimes tricks myself into thinking for a split second its white when its just... Brown again. Download pic related and made it my phone wallpaper to inspire myself to keep going. I dont know if I can make it bros. I dont wanna stop now I feel like I'm commited, but if it takes like 10 boxes or more I dont know if its worth it. Help me through this, people of /vp/ GIVE ME YOUR ENERGY.

Bro, I have three boxes of perfect iv mimikyus before I got a shiny one.
That being said shinies will just happen. I hatched a shiny eevee and a shiny wiper in the same night.
Get the shiny charm if you want better odds

Shiny wiper? But yea I have the shiny charm. I tried switching up and dexnaving for a bit on the route east of rustburo. Not exactly sure how dex nav chaining works but I got the encounter... Counter up over 100 and nothing. Did manage to get a female with perfect hp and spattk. Ivs and curse as a special move. Caught it in a luxury ball. Replaced the English ditto I was using with it. Now I have a japanese male eevee with pretty good overall ivs and her. Not using an everstone because neither of the vees have the nature I want and I dont even want to chance it messing with the odds by only having so many rng rolls. (Ive read conflicting things about this on whether it makes a difference.) Hopefully it comes soon. I went from being excited thinking every next egg that hatches will be shiny to barely even paying attention and not expecting anything. The o-power thing is irritating too. I'll get a full batch of 5 and turn on level 3, hatch repeat. But I end up running out of full power hatching power after 3 or so batches. I will keep pushing though. I have nothing better to do. There were two other shinies I wanted to go for after this but if this one drags on and kills my spirit I may not. Heh sorry for blog post I dont have many pokefriends irl or friends in general.
tl/dr yes have charm will hatch : )

Heres my Holy trinity of shinies I want to breed if anyone gives a fuck.

I dont know how honestly and dont really want to learn. Plus id like it to be legit if possible. That being said if you want to save me the heartache and time and inject them for me I wouldnt mind. I would still keep hatching though I want at least one legit masuda'd shiny.

Oh thats cool. The only random shiny I ever got in gen2 besides gyara was one of these in the pond around ruins of alph.

On a seperate note, no offense meant here, but why did you go for mimikyu? The shiny doesnt look much different. Not judging to though each his own.

If you made it two boxes in and are loosing hope you might as well give up or use a different method. Could try pokemon LGPEs shiny hunting method for an eevee then transfer it. My only bred shiny was a shiny scorbunny after ~50 or so eggs. Dont remember. Trying for a shiny togepi but after a few hundred eggs I lost interest.

Mimikyu is one of my favorite gen 7 monsters, and I like that its shiny is monochrome giving it a really nice ghostly vibe.

If I was hatching them i might not even notice the difference in color thats how similar they are. Not judging just saying. I would only go for shinies that are way different and/or clearly better than the original if I was gonna spend that much time doing so.

Ouch. I've always wanted to soft reset for a shiny charmander in fire red but never had the patience. Any time I tried I would end up getting one with really good nature/ivs and just settling on it. If this eevee hunt is successful at at odd numbers or less I'll hunt charmander next. I've wanted a shiny zard for over a decade now. I actually managed to get a totally random mudkip shiny in emerald once and an chimchar in platinum by chance that had a jolly nature. But alas those are lost to time. Good luck though full odds pre gen 6 was rough as hell. At least you get three rolls each reset. Would you take any of them or do you have a specific target?

Thanks to all for the good vibes and support. Feel free to keep this thread going with breeding and/or resetting stories and I'll keep updating. God I would love to get it tonight so I can evolve it right away.

Hoping for anything but Chikorita desu. Godbless if you ever try for the zard lol. The only reason I can sort of tolerate the full odds here is the 3 "encounters" per reset. But I wouldn't get discouraged rn. The hatching seems endless but I've literally never MM'd more than 700 eggs at the most for a single target. Guarantee it will happen eventually.

Yea checks out for me lol. If I'm just bored and dont feel like watching a movie or something its peaceful to just put on a good album and hatch eggs. The reward is admittedly not some spectacular life changing thing but its nice. Idk

Don't give up, took me like 480 Growlithes with Dexnav before I got a shiny. Don't know about later gens but for me Dexnav's been the absolute best way to obtain shinies, aside from just hacking them in

Shiny hunters just repeat the same action mindlessly, again and again and again and again. They don't hope for one to be shiny, they just do it. And eventually, they get one.
