He didn't have any programming done or use an engine, hell I'm pretty sure all of the character models are reused from various pokemon games. He did nothing impressive, all he did was put these already existing models in a world and crank up the bloom

It's always the same story with you shills. Trailer after trailer it's been proven that "game footage not final" means jack shit for Game Freak yet you autists keep eating the shit they put out. Show me ONE improvement they've made on any pokémon game after releasing the trailer. Hell, I can even show (You) one time they changed something for the worse. This is a screenshot from the XY trailer featuring route 3. In the final game, the camera doesn't show the sky at all, instead it's top down like the rest of the game. It could've been a special set piece, at the time when 3D was somewhat new to the main games, and they ruined it for no reason.

GF didn't make it, but ILCA pretty much made a shitty choice with the style they went with I think. There's nothing unique or charming about it and I understand wanting to capture the charm of the original's style but everybody wanted a better looking version of the original and the shit they went with just doesn't look that great even if it was just trying to be a mobile game. The models look uninspired and really shoddy, I think I'd have preferred 2D Sprites running through the same region but made into a very decent looking, realistic HD modelled environments or maybe like the new Mistwalker game where they created every environment irl with crafted panoramas. Even then, the sprites being replaced with just better 3D Models would be better. I just want the game to have great lighting and textures, but I doubt it's happening.

We had ShSw areas in the first trailer that also looked fairly different in the final game.
