>>46524536The only thing people want out of a Pokemon game at this point is to be immersed in the world, which was why people were hyped for the first mainline pokemon game to actually jump from its handheld shackles, but what they got was absolute garbage full of reused assets, terrible presentation like always and the exact same "animations" we've had since going 3D only now even more glaring and immersion breaking now that the world got bigger and the graphics improved slightly (looking at the terrible ground textures, drab colors and N64 tier trees, shitty pop in etc)
I guess expecting anything from Gamefreak is a fool's game at this point; people clearly don't mind the stale 20 year old gameplay much, they just want the kind of presentations even indie games have nowadays, something on par with the rest of Nintendo's first party, actual animation and player interactivity that makes the world feel alive and believable and a modicum of thought put into showing a world where pokemon are everywhere.
Jesus Christ, at this point I'm fine without actual voiced dialogue, just give me something expressive like they do with Mario's mannerisms and noises, Goddamn, just having that during cutscenes would go a long fucking way to improve the games by miles and actually make the story less of a fucking bore to go through due to stiff robotic movement and absolute awkward silence save for the dialogue box and, if you're lucky, music.
