>>46520078Off the top of my head, Xenoblade 2 is using a modified Xenoblade X engine, Pokemon hasn't had the same engine for a different generation since maybe Gen 5 (and that's assuming Gen 5 is modified from the Gen 4 engine). In addition, while both Xenoblade 2 and SS outsource a lot, 2 outsources a lot more I'm fairly sure. Lastly, while Game Freak has a limited pool of staff, Monolith has a lot larger of a pool, who work on a lot more different games. In addition, one game is helmed by the guy who wrote and directed Xenogears, which looks like Diamond and Pearl did but was somehow less complete, back on the PS1, and the only games that are confirmed running on the Gen 8 engine (which for the record is Nintendo's SDK and Lunckpack with some Game Freak code, which if they keep using it that might be a good long term decision) are helmed by the guy who did music for Gen 1 and only got the director position because he was the only one who wanted games to actually release, and the guy who did maps for a bunch of Pokemon games, so you decide how much effort everyone is putting in.
