>>46523782I ended up getting optimistic after the initial disappointment. I had to remind myself that I was advocating for a chibi overworld style to some degree because I felt that would be the best way to represent Sinnoh because of all of the reworking they would need to do to make it on the level of Galar. That would probably ruin the game in the process, making Sinnoh empty and ensuring that no effort would go anywhere else in the game. The only part about this that I don't like is that I think the character models were just a little too small. Yes it fits the scale of the originals but that's the problem, it looked fine on the DS but on the Switch it's just jarring. I think if they were 20-50% taller along with other necessary stuff to make that happen like doors, then the game would look much better.
Plus, the last time a game looked extremely bad at first (LGPE) it ended up not being that bad. I don't expect anything like the BF, but I'm hoping that at the very least they keep the Platinum dex and that it's fully compatible with Home both ways. My dreams are that they have the 1-493 Pokemon all transferrable including their regional variants and any Galarian evolutions, but I'm prepared to be disappointed on that. But at least it will have the Underground and probably Secret Bases.
