There are so many locations in Sinnoh that looks so much better in Platinum than the Bland fest that is D/P, literally every location looks the same in the original games

They fully remade the rendering quirk from hardware that made the protagonist's room have those jagged lines on the top of the wall, so probably the latter.

I always saw it as the shadows of tree leaves in the forest making the place dark and gloomy, like there were giant trees looming over Eterna forest and the little unshaded spots are where a bit of sun/moonlight got to peek through. Never once occurred to me that it was smoke

You guys realize you can literally see ALL the trees in the forest right? And none of them grow tall enough to block the sunlight this much. I get that it's "supposed" to be a shadow, but it looks so terrible when players can clearly see the trees are not tall enough for such a massive shadow.

Is this bait? Did you even play the originals? That's precisely what they did with Platinum. The map layout wasn't altered, the conveyor belts were just made to move in Platinum. The same thing in BDSP. Not saying the remake won't be shit. They'll fuck it up somehow, but to say that it doesn't have its Platinum visuals is blatantly untrue because the moving conveyor belts are the Platinum visuals.
