It has elicited the most passionate rage and disgust from millions of people on command, a primal, genetic disgust. For the express purposes of designing a soccer based rabbit, for a thing that most people do not want to be near IRL, it basically hit it into the goal net; slam dunked it. It accomplished being the most hated Pokemon of all time. You have to admire it for that alone.
Me, I don't personally hate it. But I think it's fascinating, and not in a Rian Johnson contrarian kind of way. I do think there is merit in purposefully upsetting people with art. Art is just holding a mirror up to nature, after all. If everyone found Cinderace likable and it had a safe cute/sexy/cool design it would be worse off for it.
