I know they are deadset on the remakes, but gen 4 kind of sucked, they honestly could have skipped this gen and made very few people upset.

The amount of people crying over the remakes is magnitudes smaller than the people excited for them though.
Just skip these games like an adult, if they don't interest you, but if they remade RS after the shitshow Gen III was, they were guaranteed to remake a more popular Gen.

I'm playing Platinum rn and even though the beginning kinda sucks I still really enjoy Sinnoh and the game in general.

They basically did skip this gen, this isn't a remake, just a lazy remaster. Expect it to follow ORAS in simplifying dungeons, fucking the story, and shoehorning other games' characters or gimmicks into the plot.
