>>46530371Gen II: From Inception it's been stuck being in Shillzard's shadow because it has the exact same BST (but at least it has Thunder Punch)
Gen IV: SIKE it Lost Thunder Punch in the Phys/Spec Split. Also, it was the only Pokémon that lost coverage in the split WITHOUT gaining anything in return (Eruption would have been special regardless) Please note, Ancient Power is now a special Rock move and Earth Power is a new special Ground move that would be prefect for Typhlosion, but for some retarded reason Lame Freak didn't give Typhlosion any of them.
Gen V: Hidden Abilities exist but it along with the other Johto Starters don't get them until after then generation is over. Typhlosion's would have been Flash Fire which isn't amazing but fits well with its lore and could have been used to help boost its STAB in doubles.
Gen VI: Its fire only shows up during attacks instead of during the battle, causing everyone to call it an eclair. Never mind that there was an entire arc in the anime of Cyndaquil leaning to have its fire on for the entire battle because that's what its for. The most retarded part is that it makes sense for Typhlosion to not have its flames in Amie, but there was no reason why it couldn't have a battle pose and non-battle pose because other Pokemon (including Charizard get it) Oh and Charizard gets 2 megas which is more than all of the Johto starters got combined.
Gen VII: Pic related, Years of Power Creep and Lame Freak gave it nothing (no special coverage outside of Focus Miss, and Solar-only works in Sun, no set up moves or utility) Meanwhile every other Fire Starter gets actual movepools.
Gen VIII: Considered unworthy of entering Galar while Charizard gets to be the champion's ace with ANOTHER new form.
The only upside is that Cyndaquil was chosen as the starter for Legends and even got its flame back but we know nothing about the games so for all we know, the game could end up being a complete disaster.
