18 Pokémon types can be divided into 7 elemental groups:

1. Nature: Grass, Bug.
2. Water: Water, Ice.
3. Fire: Fire, Dragon.
4. Thunder: Electric.
5. Air: Flying.
6. Earth: Ground, Rock,
Fighting, Steel.
7. Darkness: Poison, Ghost
Dark.
8. Light: Normal*, Psychic,
Fairy.

*Normal is the primordial type which all types are derived from, thus it is considered to be in the light group because the light by its nature is primordial.
