>>46538310Anon Yo-Kai Watch had a lot potential to be a juggernaut who could rival pokémon. The reasons it didn't were:
1) Level being being Level 5. Rather than care for their cash cow they decide to milk it to death, when things started to slow down on the third games and that fucked up busters 2 launch rather than try and fix things up they made a soft reboot and made things edgie and then we got shadowside, it didn't help so they rebooted for real and we got that weird ass High School/Kamen Rider thing. That shows just how desperate they are to keep it alive in Japan.
2) They fucked up big time in the west, the episodes from the anime, the merchandise and the games. The games come up WAY TOO LATE to catch up and the last one is both the best and the rarest of the bunch so unless you're willing to fork close to 100 bucks you're buying online only and with Level 5 closing their American Office things surely got more difficult.
Yo-Kai Watch had everything to work it out but due to Level 5 doing Level 5 things a series with lot of potential got their chances and to a certain point it's identity crushed.
