It's not ideal as a "third version" game and I get the complaints but generally it's a solid title. There's a reason nobody ever talks about GS, RS or DP anymore when the third version exists. As well I don't think SM should even be discussed anymore. Only some trannies who cling to Lillie's juvenile character arc say it's superior to USUM.
Meanwhile XY lacking a third version really is devoid of content. Swish has the DLC, ORAS is RS + Gen 6 improvements and some Emerald sprinkled in. Let's go is unironically the only competition XY has in terms of "finished" package of being the worst in the series.
