is omega ruby/alpha saphire worth getting? Or are they inferior to the originals? I mean, I like alot of the gen 6 pokemon, and the idea of a more polished gen 6 set in gen 3 sounds pretty dope.

I set the mons to be at a similar strength to the ones they're replacing. Playing through this game makes me remember why I prefer the older gens. Maybe I'll play Platinum or Fire Red next.

They’re better than X/Y. The originals have their charm, and the fact that ORAS doesn’t include emerald story changes means emerald is still a unique game. But I would recommend playing them only for the the fact that there are more Pokémon/more moves/physical special split/mega evos. The exp share is ridiculously overpowered, you’ll easily have 6 over-leveled pokemon by the time you reach the last gym.

ORAS vs Emerald is debatable though. Might be worth a try if you want to see where you stand. ORAS is less of a grind (for better or worse) but there's no Frontier and the gyms are really bad, though it does have its own postgame scenarios to try and compensate.

What are you on? I'm 27 and the Sinnoh starters were very well received, especially Infernape because it was one of two fire mons in the pre E4 and was a good addition to the meta at the time. It obviously was outshined by Lucario and Garchomp in overall popularity but are you for real?

I was so fucking hyped when I saw the gen 3 Pokemon during the Johto League. I loved Kecleon until I actually played the games and found out it's just a below average shitmon. But Blaziken was and is the shit.

If we're not counting the two series mascots Pikachu and Charizard, wouldn't that actually be Jigglypuff? Forced into the role of recurring character in the anime, lots of merch, somehow made it into Super Smash Bros of all the choices they had to choose from? Clefairy was essentially the same exact pokemon but cuter and evolves into something actually viable and was even considered to be the mascot before Pikachu so it woulda been a better choice but Jiggs just kinda usurped her.

Only because it is a shillmon. While it didn’t get an extra mega, it was the only non kanto starter to get a mega in XY. Sceptile and Swampert were passed over untill OR/AS.

Emerald is still the overall better Hoenn experience but I remember really loving ORAS when they came out:

It was an easy copy and paste of Kirby, like Luigi was of Mario. Jiggylys moveset got changed and reworked to be a more unique character in future smash games, but it was a lot more blatant in Smash 64.
