>>46559724I'd say the concept of Pokemon is still strong enough to make it popular worldwide. Arceus could be the secret Mew equivalent. Cyrus isn't too outlandish for a jrpg antagonist. Sinnoh pandering with Infernape, Garchomp, and Lucario. Mascot could be Riolu I guess, or Eevee, can't have Glaceon or Leafeon without Eevee afterall. You're missing out on some iconic moments like the rival champion fight though, and maybe the characters aren't as strong conceptually. Yeah I think this could work out. Maybe the popularity would be a tad bit weaker, not that bad.
