While you enter a building, and the interior looks like your typical European castle/mansion, there's a massive dark vortex perpetually spinning down below, and you have to avoid falling in lest you get sent back to the start. It's a winding maze, and the fact that the pieces of the interior float towards you in, well, pieces doesn't make anything easier.

Behind her is a servant wearing a typical dark suit along with a sort of collar with a chain, as well as a couple arm bands with a similar chained design.
>TeamPic related. The Gym Leader sics her servant at you before battling you outright. The servant has a focus on being annoying, and causing various status effects while hitting hard with Dark Pulse. The Hard Mode battle is quite similar.
The Gym Leader herself is a bit interesting, she spams Dark moves, as well as bringing in some wildcards in Gothitelle and Vileplume. Both of which use the Magical Seed, which buffs their defense and sets up Trick Room so her slower team members can then abuse it.
