>>46572315Feel like explorers games was the best, then red/blue, super being last. DX was just the original with more.
Red genuinely made me cry as a kid, because it took me about a month to finally get to the top of the tower. By the end, I wasn’t ready to go and didn’t feel like I did enough. Being able to continue after was a bigger godsend at the time than I can say, I just felt so attached because of how much I invested. Though I agree with
>>46572575, feels a little basic like an oldschool RPG. Text, but basic and kinda rushed.
Time felt like a mature story that finally expanded on what rescue was missing, and felt both complex and atmospheric for what it was. Was older, but the fact that you technically die at the end felt dark and upsetting. Even more so, because you know what’s coming.
Super looks great, I’d say DX is better, but the very childish story and overkill handholding makes me in no rush to finish my first play through.
>TOUCH the screen!>can you feel it?!?! THE POWER IS OVERFLOWING!!!!!!>OMG WE’REGOINGTOTHEWORLDOFPOKEMON!!!!!!!!!111!!!!!!! I know these are kids games in general, but this felt really baby mode, and i had to put the game down and shake my head wondering if I just blew my money or not. It reeled in eventually, but kept a real pre-school feel until you finally ditch town.
The early legendary fake-out made me laugh.
