>>46579886>Venusaur/MewtwoBoxart/legendary duo. I wont dwell on gen 1.
>Ho-ohLugia is classic and in a way I think its more important as its an original creature to pokemon, but I love Ho-oh its truly mythical & traditional feeling.
>GroudonI like Kyogre a lot, but while lines on groudons body make sense as tectonic plates, Kyogre's have no reason, the red on Kyogre is the infamous "splash of color stripe/shape" that a lot of gen 3-5 mons have. it also bothers me that Kyogre's red accent isnt matched by a blue one on Groudon.
>DialgaDialga and palkia come down to preferring the color or a biped or quadruped. Once again the lines on the body make sense on one, Dialga's diamond veins. Palkia just has lines to match.
>ZekromThese two do the traditional/organic vs modern/inorganic that Lugia & Ho-oh have shades of going on but much more overtly. I think ironically besides being made of rubber tire or whatever Zekrom actually feels more natural. I believe a huge engine tail would be on his body.
>XerneasI think the blue is a bit unnatural but its a breath of fresh air to have a non dragon again, and the antlers are beautiful. Yveltal is great too, it looks more natural in some ways than the last 3 gems, but its so overtly Y shaped and the fingers on its tail & wings etc, it looks a bit tacky to me.
>LunalaI'm not attached to gen 7 or 8's legends at all because I didn't buy these games, but I can comment on the designs. SM again aped something Ho-oh & Lugia vaguely had, this time the sun/moon theme. I think both are hideous here, but Lunala makes an interesting shape and the skeletal structure seen is cool & makes sense to me.
>the Shield oneAt a glance these two look exactly the same to me, but they are different up close. I have not learned which is which. Really a sword wolf is a fine idea for a legend and makes sense, and I like the Medieval or maybe tarot feeling RBY colors. but the shield one just looks better to me. I sort of hate them both.
