Showdown exists for no other purpose than "battles for the sake of battles". And the online is the same, you get BP rewards and such but most people play the Online of Pokemon because they enjoy fighting other people.

You know, the point of the game? To have fun? And a lot of fucking people find it fun to just fight other people and prove they're better.
I'm not even the retard you're arguing with, I wholly think BW is better than the sequel because I liked the story more but if you're going to argue that the multiplayer is pointless and no one fucking cares about it because "battles for the sake of it" you are completely delusional.
