Considering the next remakes will likely reuse the 3D overworld like BD/SP, that should me easy. They'd just have to remake the NPC's bodies in the overworld, which should be cheap considering the art direction.

Would be based if we get a Legends Victini, where you can do that, and then the passage becomes sealed/Hidden at some point in the story, for some reason.

(You can still fly from region to region at that point in the story)

I'm not with him, but whenever there's a myth in Pokemon it's usually real. They say Arceus created the universe and we see it forge the egg of a creation dragon, a being that in of itself can take apart and remake the world. Among other examples.
The only things that would be counter to this are shit like the obvious folktale of throwing pokemon bones back into water to rez them.

Unova and Sinnoh are on opposite ends of the Poke-world roughly assuming they're like their counterparts. The text is referencing the idea that a cave can go so deep into the Earth that it goed through to the other side in a hyperbolic sense.
