I just learned about this. I never managed to reach it in HGSS.

I loved all the Sinnoh mythology stuff in Gen IV, but I dont think they did enough with it. Hopefully we get some cool stuff in the Arceus game. But probably we won't.

I thought it was the coolest shit ever as a kid. Arceus manipulates the fabric of reality to create a new legendary, hence why it alternates between showing cells and galaxies.

Every time a Pokemon egg is made, Arceus deletes the universe and creates a new one that's identical except that the egg and the Pokemon that hatches from it now exists.

The whole point of that scene is to show us where Pokemon eggs come from, they spell this out with Cynthia's dialogue

>"That shining sphere... Could it be...an Egg? Did we just witness the very moment an Egg was brought to this world? A moment no one has ever seen?"
>"An Egg is the cradle of every being. The planet itself is an Egg in a sense... Life that comes from an Egg will come to an end in due course... to begin anew... That may be what Arceus wanted to show us."

That's why no one has ever seen a Pokemon lay an egg
