>>46593525I agree completely. And actually, while XY are incredibly weak and half-baked games, I actually really enjoyed the route/dungeon designs in that game. How everything often felt multilayered and wrapped back on itself. The downside was that a lot of the routes were small, but in that small space they often had a good amount of content crammed in. It's especially apparent comparing XY to ORAS, since ORAS more or less just 1:1 copies R/S's route tiles.
If they had that sort of design, with tons of little nooks and crannies everywhere to explore, but were also bigger, it'd be fantastic.
