The whole point of a card game is to play it, not just collect them, even Yu-Gi-Oh gets bans and erratas
Poison is fine as part of Dark, it doesn't need its own type. They took Fairy and Dragon out of the TCG for exactly that reason; Fairy was only super-effective against Dragon, so both types were too specific to be worth keeping around
