It's the same issue as with designing flareon as a physical attacker eeeveelution and not giving it any worthwhile physical attacks until like 2 decades later.
>>46597395Don't get me wrong, I fucking love aggron, and the fact that was still somewhat usable in places like UU is a testament to how powerful it's stats and movepool are. It's just a huge shame that they fucked it with the typing. It would've been borderline broken if they just made it pure steel type, but I wish they did that and just retooled its stats as well. Still top tier hoennmon imo
