It's BW2. They have more content than Platinum and better quality than HGSS. The only really negatives in BW2 are the early tutorials and I guess lack of a battle frontier if yiu really care about that, but the tutorials are made easier by the game quickly giving you a decent amount to explore, and there are still multiple battle facilities in seperate places.

Well it's just my last game so it's not very accurate and representative. Also it's just the average levels, some champions do have shit teams even if they have the right average level.
But still, the level curve itself is fine, not worse than other games at least.

This isn't completely accurate because the lower overall levels in Johto affect the player more than the npcs. You fight Clair at a time when it's possible that your starter hasn't even evolved, meaning you are weaker even at the same level. The wild pokemon are also weaker, making exp gain harder.
That's the real problem with Johto, ending 15 levels lower than most other regions for the sake of "exploration"

Comparing the 7th gym leader out of 16 and the 7th gym leader out of 8 isn't really a fair comparison, no? One is a bit under halfway through the game and the other is close to the end. Blaine or Sabrina to Candice would be more fair a comparison.
The Rocket fights suck though I'll give you that.

They're comparing the 7th out of 8 to the 7th out of 8. That's fair.
Kanto is post-game, played after you become Johto's Champion. And before you claim otherwise, keep in mind that would mean admitting that Johto can't stand as a region on its own.

Definitely. It's not guaranteed the DP "remakes" will include all the Platinum improvements, and they most certainly will be easier, so don't wait for those if you're gonna buy them. Platinum is the definitive Sinnoh experience and arguably Pokémon in general.

i never said it's shit, i said that current johto has always had a post game in kanto, so the region itself didn't need (they probably didn't want it) to work on it's own. It's good in the context of the games, but without kanto it would be quite bad

Who ever did Platinum's battle scenario needs to do every game. There's no one credited for it for some reason, but I don't think it was Morimoto. Look how much fucking coverage Bertha has. It's beautiful and nearly every single boss trainer has similarly structured movesets.

For a while the majority opinion on this board has been Platinum, HGSS, or B2W2 with a few citing the Gen 2 games as the best. Lately though there's been an influx of opinions praising Gen 7(fair enough I thought is was better than Gen 6) and even some people now saying Gen 6 was good.

I think gen 6 and 7 are both flawed but decent games that get a bit too much flack because gen 3-5 are better. They're still fine games on their own, especially gen 7 which has a pretty good campaign. They just aren't better than what came before. Gen 8 is really the only gen I couldn't find fun in.

Considering the current state of the franchise, it's no surprise when SwSh makes USUM look like good Pokémon games. But at least 60% of the praise for Gen 7 and higher for Gen 6 is disingenuous because it comes from the roaming troll yawnfaggot who's admitted to never even playing any of the games.

I don't know why people are praising Gen 6 at all, considering the games weren't particularly good in any way, especially when compared to other games in the series. I kind of understand the love for Gen 7, since it had a lot of great character and pokemon designs.

I think a lot of the gen 7 praise has also come from people who always enjoyed it but were kept quiet until the general hate moved on to SwSh, just like XY when USUM/LGPE came out. I know some of it is at least because I'm one of the people who enjoyed SM from the start.
