While I also agree, I also believe it gives the gameplay an increment of depth that the series sorely needs, less you wind up with instances like the Nidoking and -Queen line that are effectively sterile beyond their initial forms. To make them genderless, you could argue that breeding them is pointless to boot, Ditto-breeding aside.

Breeding sucks noodles though, I unironically the catch chain systems some of the games have had where you get streaks of the same mon with higher natural IVs
Turn egg moves into Joint Training or something where another mon who knows the compatible move can teach your other mons how to use it and breeding would be totally obsolete

The problem I have is the sexual dimorphism across both genders, like horns on a Dubwool, or the skirts on a Braixen or Primarina--both which ironically have a 4:1 ratio of males to females.

Not necessarily, I personally don't care about my pokemons gender while playing but adding it means they can make different models for both genders (Like Meowstic), only bad thing is the retarded 87.5/12.5 ratio on starters and not enough variations
