Every game, every gen has been both hated and loved at all times. Every single one. There has never been a consensus on /vp/. Outside of /vp/ there is a consensus on reddit, youtube comments, forums, and top lists that Platinum, HGSS, and BW2 are the holy trinity and peak pokemon games. Then users come from other sites and get butthurt that people dare to oppose their their holy trinity. Certainly the target rotates. Around ORAS there was a lot of hate for Hoenn and gen 3 which never stopped. There has always been hate for gen 4 but now because of BDSM there is even more. There was BW and BW2 cover spam for ages. HGSS vs Gen 2 threads are seeing a revival. SM was hated except for a couple of weeks after release when people would come and talked about their playthroughs but then the hammer came down. Now USUM is being spammed and gets a lot of hate. Not to mention LGPE and SwSh. It's a never ending cycle. Threads get replies because people are disagreeing. If everyone agreed threads would be really short. There never was and there will never be consensus on /vp/. Stop stating otherwise.
