Not that I’m gonna play it, but I appreciate a lot of the left field picks. They could have just stopped at the big popular Pokémon, and they’ve got their fair share of that no doubt, but there’s a few...interesting choices in there.

Crustle alone was such an oddball that it makes me want to at least try the game out. Add in the fact that Venusaur FINALLY wasn't ignored, Slowbro/Eldegoss/Mime are also interesting picks, and Gengar/Snorlax are some of my faves, and damnit, this game I usually would'nt touch with a ten foot pole has transformed into a must-play.
I also appreciate the fact that they told legendaries to get fucked. There's gotta be some real fans behind these picks and that has me intrigued.

Nine and a half KANTOOOOOs out of sixteen. Ten out of seventeen counting the other two. Then the shill picks of Absol, Garchomp, Gardevoir, Lucario, Greninja, Zeraora, and Cinderace. And, kind of Talonflame, too, but not really, I won't count that.

Crustle, Crawmorant, and Eldegoss are legitimately interesting picks. But that's not enough to compensate for the boring, predictable, tired roster they've gone with. Each gen should've gotten 2 picks, and only one of those, if either, should've been a shill.

Not that I disagree with most of this, but is Absol a shill pick? I mean sure it’s a tad more prominent than other Pokémon, but I’d in no way consider it excessively shilled like the rest.

It’s unfortunate that games like this thrive on the pay to win/get cool bonuses model, since I’d legitimately give them a try otherwise. Unfortunately I’m a completionist and fuck that in any game like this. Hard though to do that in a normal Pokémon game.

keep in mind that these are just literally costumes, so no pay to win there. honestly selling skins is probably the only way they are actually making money, which I'm personally fine with because it means we don't get bombarded with ads.

It goes from a travesty to a must-play by including a couple of shitmons? Like 3/4th of the roster is still shillmons. No wonder some people say "just slap Pokémon on it and it will sell", you're a prime example.
