I don't understand this argument, there are plenty of difficult games for kids, there is a whole genre called rage games that are mostly intended for children in which the intent is to be as hard as possible. Challenge makes games fun.

Why have the games got easier?
Emerald was much harder than the new games.
I was a kid when those older games came out and completed them just fine. Why should the newer games be easier than the old ones?

Since gen 6 pokemon has relied heavily on nostalgia to sell its games. The vast majority of players are in the 18-36 age group. You have literal unironic fetishmon in these games.

I'm literally playing Emerald right now and so far the entire game has just been sweeping everything with my now lv38 Blaziken before even getting to Fallarbor Town. USUM was easily harder than this.

I play by picking random pokemon I like without using items, or TMs until I get to the E4. Then I soup up my team with held items and TMs if they don't have any good moves. Playing this way on Set without exp. share on is challenging enough for me.

Being made for children is not an excuse for poor quality. Being made for children means there is a lack of sexual themes, drug or alcohol use, or anything more than cartoon violence. Sometimes adult jokes are implemented in a way that goes over the child's head and adults will understand.

Pokemon would be careless to deny that they have an aging fanbase. Not saying we need a grimdark adult Pokemon game but conflating "low quality" with "made for children" is retarded and demeans children's intelligence
