Playing through Renegade Platinum. I'm assuming shiny rates are boosted because I've already got shiny Starly, Treecko, and Golbat in the box. And I've only just left Eterna.

No idea, I'm playing it by ear. The shinies I have so far are a bust. Not using Starly because I've used Staraptor a million times. The Treecko had really bad stats and I don't want my team to have two starters. I really don't like Crobat's shiny colors so Golbat is out the window.

Currently grinding up shit, but this is the team I beat the game with.
I was looking forward to messing around with DLC and debug stuff, but the damn code I found doesn't seem to work properly. It just fucks up nicknames and makes it so I can no longer access the VMM.

The mons in the bottom right aren't part of the main 6 but have helped me greatly nonetheless.
The Distortion World was so cool (I've only played Pearl before so I'd never experienced it)
Also, Milotic and Rotom-Heat were the biggest players in this run by FAR.

Current Ultra Moon team. First time playing gen 7, need to finish my team for the Poni trials.
Which Alola only pokemon can help me with my crippling fire weakness? Willing to replace Sallazle.

Toxapex. And Pallosand has enough bulk if you don't choose Toxa. Mudsdale and Araquanid are also good substitues, as water bubble makes Araquanid resist fire.

It doesn't seem right to me that your team is entirely level 30 right after Chuck. Is that natural? Because I had less than 6 on my team through most of Johto and my team was only in the mid-30s by Clair.

Primarina, drop Decidueye as it won't get good matches ingame.

Use Pelago for rainbow beans, update the tree and smack it for the guaranteed daily rainbow drop. Raise affection to 5 hearts, enjoy broken boosts and the unique animation for the jobber you want to keep. Use the berry fields everyday, plant Leppas and Sitrus first, then the status healing ones, it will carry you till midgame.

The Plaza is good if you grind the Tauros minigame and Wondertrade often, keep everything for extra rolls at the lottery stands. Check egg cycles and apriballs for good trade fodder, don't be the assshole with a Wingull.

Consider Magnezone instead of Vikavolt, if you want a gen 7 pick maybe trade a Dhelmise or Mimikyu? The later can tank a hit for Set play, it's strong but doesn't appear early.

No, but grinding on wild Pokemon sucks, and the NPC trainers alone won't get you there, so I'd rather be slightly underleveled because you can still beat the gyms anyway.

I literally didn't understand half of what you said. Never played gen 7 before and don't know of these features.
I am fairly deep in my current run (Poni Island) so restarting for Primarina is not an option (hindsight is 20/20 I guess). I am also forcing limitations on my self for added challenge:
- Only Gen 7/Alolan form Pokemon.
- No EXP Share
- No abusing Affection for cheap crits/evasion etc.
- Set battle mode.
Also trying to only use mons that I like, so far it's making my playthrough tough. Mimikyu seems like a good bet, too bad it's another Ghost type.

Correct! It was a bit of a hassle getting them to White but it was it was a fun run. Fearow is actually quite strong in game and Shiftry was also neat. Hordes/Seadra required some upkeep, but once it became Kingdra it started slapping. Alakazam is fucking Alakazam, and Kazza always had HP(ice) which is great.
Elekid with every elemental punch+cross chop is just a coverage machine, i slapped a Expert belt on it and it was based.
