Imagine you're a trainer in the anime travelling with their team across each region. The team can stay the same or change with each region.

What Pokemon would they use?
Would they have a running theme?
What Pokemon would be your shouldermon that sticks with you?

Up to 24 because pokemon, especially strong ones, are expensive (Food, daycare, bonding time, etc.). Pokemon trainers command an army after all.

My shouldermon would be cyndiquil. I'd have a variety of types really. Definetly Abra so it can evolve into Alakazam. Porygon, Venomoth, Blastoise so I can surf and Fearow so I can fly around Whatever happens along the way, happens. Just want to take the journey with my favorite mons

Shoulder mon is Murkrow and ace is Electivire. I would probably always keep these two but switch out the rest as I travel across different regions.

I'm with this guy, squad of about 20 pokemon.
Shouldermon would be a Skitty, though my team would mostly be gen 1 and 2 mons with some 3+ sprinkled in.

Moves in to Hoenn to join Team Magma, finds the fossils when helping with their excavations, but only keeps badge collecting as a hobby.
After the team is disbanded, goes back to Johto since there are more Gyms to give it a shot.

Like I said, essentially being a Ruin Maniac. A lot of the Pokemon in my team would likely be found in ruins or something.

Definitely mystical type pokemon (Psychic, Ghost, Dark)

No, they would just need to fit the types mentioned earlier
