Vintage trading cards have been booming, with Pokemon cards in particular having gone up 25000% in value over the past 5 years. Are vintage trading cards the modern day fine arts, or just another retarded "line go up, me invest" speculative FOMO frenzy?

no one expected the cultivation of cards to get the hype it does, collecting is one thing but unboxing, trade deals, scarcity, etc. especially through streaming and youtube have really just blown this shit out of proportion. Nostalgia is one hell of a drug.

I was just thinking how awesome it would be if they did that all year round. I'd go to McDonald's every weekend.

The idea of opening booster packs is just fun and when its not a crazy goal where you only get a shiny after 20 packs is even better. Top that off with a cute happy meal makes everything better.

The game has almost always been bad. There are only two good eras:

1. The long era that started when Neo rotated and ended when Platinum was printed

2. The era that started when Sun & Moon eas printed and ended when Team Up was printed.

What do those 2 eras have in common? They're the only 2 times evolution decks (excluding BS like Broken Time Space and Maxies/Archies) were actually viable.
