They were kinda shit, figures were good but most of mine are pretty faded now. Now those little keychains with the hard pokeballs that opened when you pushed the button? Totally bomb. They were also nice shiny figures that still look like new. Keychain pulled right out easy too, and I think they stopped making them with keychain pretty early. I still have ivysaur and he looks hella better than nearly all the other original figure types.

While we're talking about figures, anyone extremely creeped out by the BW ones? Weird feeling plastic and they were outta proportion fell over ect.

I remember it being pretty bullshit.
Not as bad as other board games I played as a kid, but there was something that made the game redundant if I remember right.
Either way, it was a lot of fun back in school. I'd take it over the other games we had in our closet any day of the week.

Sorry for your loss anon, I had one and eventually threw it out because I never played with it. I think I got it for £1 from a friend or something.
By that point I'd already moved on to gold/silver though and didn't have much interest in playing what was effectively a tamagotchi with step counter in it.

I was so disappointed that there was almost no actual care elements to pokemon pikachu when I got this thing, like I'm okay with not having to clean up it's shit but feeding and playing games and keeping it from getting sick are a core part of the virtual pet experience, this thing seemed pretty feature light if it was trying to compete with digimon and tamagotchi.

Still loved it though.

I was going to get one when I was little, my aunt was ready to buy it for me for my birthday, but then the KB toys guy told us not to get it because finding the figures for it was next to impossible so I got some other kind of Pokemon toy. The only reason I didn't do stuff like this probably is I was a super reserved child because reasons and was worried I would get in trouble. I pretty much just did anything dumb or autistic alone in my room quietly. Usually involved some scenario of re-enacting pokemons' moves with my figures.

This fucking book amongst a few is the reason my brain knows every damn card in all the sets.
I didn't even own like 95% of the cards but I could tell you all their moves and details. Honestly was more fun than owning the cards, because I always felt like I had to be super careful with the cards in my album and not touch them too much, whereas the book I could just read constantly and not feel guilty.

I remember some pokemon magazine way back when showed 3 fake pokemon cards on a page. It was an energy card colored orange with a gear symbol and I think one of the others was a construction vehicle with a plow.
