Oh man, i really fucking love wingull. Not just love, ADORE. Basing a pokemon off of the bird that chokes on plastic soda rings left on the beach and shits all over car windshields? Beautiful. And its cry is so pleasing you might only have to listen to it twice before you feel like turning the sound off. And seeing it in the wild is a joy every time. Like when it outspeeds your lead when you try to run away, only for it to follow up with a Supersonic, followed by your pokemon hitting itself a ton? I love that shit! Even the geniuses at Game Freak themselves realized how fun it was to see, which is why they let it show up on more routes than any other pokemon in all of Hoenn! And its evolution simply improves on what makes Wingull so great! That toilet-shaped design, that mouth that takes up 90% of its body, holy shit did Game Freak make a winner here. And they even gave it god's gift to pokemon movesets, Protect! It's so fun when my Thunderbolt fails 5 times in a row because Pelliper decides that Protect is the only move that exists, and why wouldn't it when it's such a fun and skill-based move to use? I didn't even mention the best part, once Alola rolled around, Game Freak decided to give it the same ability as the god of the seas, Drizzle. Now you get to see this masterwork of design on nearly every single team when you hop onto Battle Spot or Showdown, and why would you expect anything different, rain is fucking awesome! Other weather for pussies! This evolution line is so perfect, it has been in every single generation since its debut, so you get to see all of this FUN and GLORIOUS DESIGN all the time, introducing a whole new generation of players to the joys of skillful supersonic and protect usage! How many other pokemon can claim the same? And playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is a treat in and of itself, because Pelliper's there too, as the mailman! Fuck making the bird whose entire gimmick is delivery be the deliverymon, it's fuckin time for more Pelliper!
