>>46634661>>46634755I guess it's a cultural thing, I mean, growing up in an Asian family that behavior is less 'edgelord' more like 'old mentor' (which seemed ridiculous from a 13 year old Red) awaiting a worthy disciple. Isolation and distancing from the 'civilized world' in my mind usually rings more of a person pursuing higher goals of perfecting the mind and body.
Though I guess this is still sort of true for Western mindsets, it's just that a bunch of dumb kids started to mimic the behavior without understanding it completely and it was burdened with the identity of edgy kids trying to look cool and think they're better than they are.
