At least Gen 7 actually did a good job of making them fun to find, and had a large enough pokedex that the number of single-stage mons wasn't as noticeable.

This is one of the worst Pokemon ever. It doesn't even look like a living being. At least other objectmons have some anthropomorphized features. No, the compass that's supposed to be an eye doesn't count as a facial feature. Its typing doesn't make any sense either. It's a ship's wheel on a rusty old anchor covered in seaweed. Seaweed being Grass-type kinda makes sense, but is the Pokemon itself the seaweed then? Is it dead seaweed reincarnated as a ghost that happens to be wrapped around ship parts? What a shit concept.

If gamefreak erased toucannon, oricorio, ribombee, wishiwashi, lurantis, shiinotic, salazzle, comfey, passimian, oranguru, pyukumuku, komala, minior, turtonator, bruxish, drampa, and dhelmise from existence literally no one would bat an eye as they aren't among anyone's favorite pokemon and they're also unsalvageable garbage. I can guarantee i haven't seen more than 5 people using toucannon outside of randbats. This is truly Johto 2.0

What? If we strip away legends (including UBs and Mythicals), SM introduced the least new regular Pokémon out of any game. The legend bloat and single stage bloat is very fucking noticeable, especially since there’s barely any three stagers
