>>466363005 - I liked the region and the cast. The addition of hidden abilities was also something I thought was a cool addition. The idea of a whole new dex for the main story was also refreshing.
1 - It all started with this. Red vs. Blue and then Yellow came along and made the game more friendly to anime watchers by adding the Team Rocked agents everyone knows and loves. Changing the starter to the anime mascot was also surprising, but not unwelcome, since you could still get the other starters too.
2 - Sequel in every way to gen 1, with gen 1's region as post-game. Solid but can't stand alone.
4 - The physical/special split finally happened, thank goodness. But on the downside the region had HM spam compared to past regions.
7 - Pokemon Hawaii was fun and bright. And it experimented by taking away the usual gym system. Ultra Necrozma and Ultra Space were neat additions, but the original story with Lusamine as the villain was better in some ways. At least Ultra gave Mina an actual trial.
3 - Generally an engaging region, but the "too much water" meme was really true. And some of the evolution stones didn't show up until way too late to be useful. I also wasn't a fan of the Delta Episode. It just felt so tacked on and poorly written.
8 - Better in theory than in practice. It had some nice ideas like the Wild Area, League Cards, and Box Link, but the game felt increasingly rushed as it went on. Some of the later gyms didn't even have proper puzzles. Rose plot was pretty nonsensical too even by Pokemon standards. DLC added some cool things like Cramomatic and Max Adventures, but to me those didn't fully offset the often times lackluster main campaign. I enjoyed the character concepts though.
6 - Nothing technically wrong with it. I was just so bored playing it. I thought the characters were really bland and I guess the region relied alot on 3D that I always keep shut off on my 3DS.
