Normie idiots buy up Played cards, the people that are gonna sell in that year likely arent selling NM/M cards. The people that'll have those cards are the kinda normies that liked pokemon as a kid and only spent 2-4 grand on them this last year cause they're adults and they can spend money now, it's nostalgia brain.
Those people are less likely to just give up cards they spent 4 grand on the last year, or before, especially if the notion that their value will increase over time is in their minds.
My advice is buy sealed or super clean shit, and stuff you like only, you'll feel stupid for spending 500 bucks on something you don't even have attachment too, say a base charizard right now.
