Not just them, most mainline games from RBG to BW2 are worth a lot. Crystal's cartridge alone is worth 90 bucks. I also checked and FR (complete in box) is >200 for some reason. I'm guessing it's thanks to stimulus checks and prices will go down in a couple of weeks.
Regardless, if someone here wants to play or buy gen 6 or 7 games, buy them now while they're cheap (<= $20).

For the last time, the demand comes from the US. It's a collectible item so people pick the ones they want the most (ie their home version). The only reason to buy a euro cart is if you just want to play the game and can't afford the other version. That's like asking why CIB or sealed games are more expensive. If you fave someone a choice they would never pick a loose cartridge over a sealed game. The same is true for Euro carts. That creates different tiers of demand and prices accordingly. Euros keep getting butthurt by this simple fact. I don't know why, I wish my games were cheaper.

If you REALLY wanted to make money, you should probably sell your belongings now and then buy them again when prices return to normalcy, but that seems like a lot of work for maybe a couple hundred dollars profit. Don't do this. I bought some pokemon games during the corona spike because I thought the 25th anniversary would spike up prices but I never thought it would be like this. I basically paid a bit under what loose cart prices are now for complete games. Funny thing is that prices went down for a bit and I thought I made a mistake but eventually forgot about it then everything skyrocketed. The crazy thing is that prices are still going up right now with no sign of slowing down yet.

I happened to buy it from Wallmart and it came in a big box with the Lugia figure. I just happened to find it in the store and bought it, no pre-order or anything. No idea if it was some Wallmart exclusive thing or pre-order bonus and they ended up having extras but I'm sure you can find it with a quick Google search.

I wonder if Nintendo/Gamefreak have some kind of internal analysis and a reason for not just continuing to sell these games. Like do they have some internal charts proving that remasters always produce more money for pokemon or what? I feel pretty confident these games could still be selling full price if they were just offered.
