Would you like Gamefreak to add more types to the games? Not necessarily to fix anything, but just because you think it would be cool or fit the world?

Bonus points if you can make a real argument for why Light doesn't suck.

I've always liked the idea of "rare types", types that are meant to be kinda scarce and where not being able to remember the full type matchup table is intentional. Types where you feel like you've encountered something new to experiement. They also don't have to have complex matchups, just something that makes them unique on their own. I always think about this when I see Carbink and Diancie and how perfect a Gemstone type would be for them.

What 3rd stage Pokémon could get a new evolution though? I feel like they're all designed to be the "end" of their evolutionary lines. The jumps from Lotad to Lombre to Ludicolo are quite large, I can't imagine what an evolution to Ludicolo would even be if it had to take just a big a jump in design and concept.

Thematically speaking, the types they have now cover pretty much any theme you can think of. In terms of balance, they should just change the current type matchups they have. What Gamefreak has done throughout the years to buff types is to give them unique interactions with other mechanics (i.e. giving grass leech seed/powder immunity, giving rock a SPD bonus in sand, making fire types immune to burns). I'd obviously like fairy and steel to get some more weaknesses, but I think they should give unappreciated types more unique mechanics and niches to work with.

I can think of a good amount they don't cover desu. But you're right giving more love to existing under-utilized types would be great too.

Yes exactly. Gen 2 as well, even, considering they only added Misdreavus and Kingdra there. I found pic related from in the OP and it is totally the kind of type I'd like to see. A rare type that only a handful of themed Pokémon have (in this case it's Asian myths and spirituality) with a simple but interesting type matchup.

Fairy royally fucked my dreams for those though. many of the cute pink mons were sound themed for example, and fairy is a similar concept to light with only minor differences. Light would cover benevolence, brightness, color, healing, solar, protection, and radiation. Waited for these ever since GSC. Light is an obvious opposite to dark, and they kept releasing fuckin sound mons: loudred, chimecho, chatot, bronzong, meloetta, noivern. Fairy killed my dreams man, and I'll always hate Sylveon by association.

Triple typing would be cool and could fix this. Obviously limit the super effective multiplier to x4 and resistance multiplier to x0.25, but still. A few Pokémon already have abilities that almost make them triple typed.

Already mentioned it few times but Virtual / Cyber / Tech type would be great. Not yet though, maybe in 2-3 more gens.

- Has huge pool of concepts to make new Pokemon of without converting anything more than maybe 3 lines of existing Pokemon (which is good, because changing types of existing stuff is bad if overdone like with Fairy type)
- Wouldn't have issues getting cool moves, whatever it would be special, physical or status moves (unlike Fairy type)
- Isn't a sub-type like Sound, Punch or Bite
- Isn't easily belittled like other new type ideas. Mainly because yes, it can be compared to Electric types, but also Steel, Normal and even Psychic types.
- If needed can balanced around giving Ice types an advantage (freeze/lag) and Fairy types disadvantage (Fantasy vs. Technology)
- could be a new 'rare' type like the ones mentioned in >>46650344 in gen 1 and 2. Not everyone can afford top tier technology.
- Light green/teal color like the one here >>46650704 could also fit and we only really have Grass (normal green) and Bug (dark green) for it.
