even in his giganatamax form it's garbage

blastoise was never viable and it's outclassed by many water pokes in its own region

Venusaur is constantly one of the best pokemon in meta and is a deadly threat in sun teams

they probably cut the battle so you don't register it on the dex and force you to get it via trading to buy another copy of game to get it.
it was a stinky way to encourage buying the game a second time

Chlorophyll Venusaur was banned at one point in Gen 8 VGC

it was also broken in Gen5 weather wars and Gen 7 Sun Cup VGC tournament

It can do decent damage to both sides with solar power heat wave or good damage to a single target with a blast burn but in my opinion its very overrated, it doesn't really do as much work as it should in most matches and its often more of a liability

It's popular in VGC because it hits surprisingly hard in sun, sneaky pebbles aren't really a thing in VGC, and it's GMax move and does pretty good dage over a few turns.

Actually is before the tower. There is a trainer with a Charizard in the Victory Path and there are trainers with Venusaur and Blastoise in the postgame Sevii Islands

Charizard was the coolest one obviously, but he really sucked in red and blue. He had a special stat of only 85 so fire moves didnt hit hard at all and couldnt even learn fly, so your only flying stab was wing attack, which only had a base power of 35.
Venusaur was the least popular option but it was probably the best.
Razor leaf always crits making it effectively 110 base power, and toxic and leech seed were glitched to stack damage when used together.
