>>46655156To be fair, gen 4 was the first gen when the designs were planned way ahead before having the sprites added to the game. I'm not sure if gen 3 used that method or the classic gen 1 method as there has never been a source of neither.
But Gen 2 & 3 concept art of betamons was made before the sprites was finalized, it could be either way.
