Reminder:
The animations would still be bad;
Aside from Pokémon, models would still be low poly;
The competitive would still be poor;
Dynamax would still be broken for singles;
GTS and rating battles would still be behind paywalls;
It would still cost $60;
And so on...
But it would be much better already.

If it had been like it from the beginning?
Pretty good, 8-9/10 depending on the execution. I can't make a complete judgment without seeing it. For example if they just made the "difficulty" +/-2 levels instead of changing team composition; or the PWT teams were lifted wholesale from BW2; or Rotation Battles still had lethal frame drops - then it'd still be a poor attempt. But at least it would have been an attempt.

Most of these are based but the megas and PWT are a bit too much, PWT every generation would be boring, and it despite sounding cool at first glance, the teams are piss easy to beat. A rather more realistic approach with a better reward/effort ratio would have been updating the actual battle facilities already in the game so they dont suck. I'd change:
>Battle facilities improved instead of adding a whole PWT
>Dynamax is relegated to a singleplayer gimmick for bosses, either is unavailable in pvp or can only be used by wild pokemon. No megas needed
>Besides HP and Pursuit, all those gimmicky removed weak moves like snatch or secret power should be added back

>Gorilla Tactics is the hidden ability and zen mode the base ability for darmanitan (gorilla tactics is boring, worse and more broken for single player)

>Instead of changing type, Libero should give a small boost to non-stab attacks, or cinderace should just have a different ability.
>Galar Fossil Signature moves deal 1.5 damage when attacking first (like knock off), instead of double damage
>Galar-Stunfisk can now learn Secret Power (so it has a way of using its shitty signature ability gimmick)
>Zamazenta learns Body Press

The first three would already be enough to make me kneel. With all this shit, SwSh would legitimately be superior to every past Pokemon game, zero contest. Unfortunately, that image is just a pipe dream and I hate Game Freak even more now that I realize that it will never happen.
