They're most closely related to Armenians, but even then, they speak a language unrelated to any other
It's the country in the former USSR I've most wanted to visit. I've always been fairly interested in it, and I've always wanted to try Georgian food, because it sounds awesome as shit. I also think it would make for a good Pokemon region, in terms of it's geography. Georgia is both filled with a shitload of historical landmarks, and has a fair amount of climate diversity for it's size. You can find everything, from castles, to Soviet ruins, to snowy mountains, Black Sea coastal areas and some parts are even subtropical. Game Freak could reasonably shove in a bunch of different biomes in the region, without it being as jarring as if they were to do it in France/England/New York/ect
