You would more likely remember Pikachu's ear tip color rather than the tail, and would remember the tail shape more, so the brain assumes since the ears have a black tip the tail should too. Same for the monopoly man, since he is an old businessman you'd assume based on looks and stereotypes that he has a monocle (maybe the name "mono"poly too).
