I'm on the fence. I think making most of the characters datable by both characters would be fun. People could ship whoever they want, but I'm not sure it could be well implemented.

This. They should have .ore interactions besides the standard issue waifu for each gen. And this is coming from a guy who likes the waifu characters. There was N in gen 5, then not much.
Bisexuality should ALWAYS be an option.
