Better animations? Lie. All the out Pokemon have the same animations they've always had, there my be a few minor tweaks but not enough be be consider an improvement worthy of removing 29% of precious Pokémon.
New models? Lie. New Textures are not new models.
In fact, if what we saw in the game were were new animations and models, that would make Game Freak look even worse because that would mean they spent thousands more manhours recreating exact copies of something they cliam wasn't good enough to be in the game.
Game balance? Lie. There was no correlation between competitive viability and which Pokémon got cut when Dex started. Not only that but they brought back legendaries. Not only that but most of the Power Creep is due to the NEW POKEMON like Zacian-C, and Calyrex-Riders.
Pokemon fitting the region: Lie. No Stantler, No Sawsbuck, No Swanna, No Granbull.
Give lesser used Pokémon the spotlight: Because CHARIZARD FROM KANTOOOOOOOO never gets attention right?
